TEASE YOUR SENSES!
Etosha National Park is Namibia’s second largest Park. With a rich wildlife heritage of 114 mammal, 340 bird and 110 reptile species it is also the oldest and best known of Namibia’s 22 Protected Areas. The Park, measuring a mind-boggling 22,270 km2 is a harsh arid area for most parts of the year where the spectacle occurs around the Saline pans; which cover about 23% of the park’s total area.
UNIQUELY LOCATED
A previously restricted part of the Park, western Etosha, boasts some of the highest numbers of wildlife throughout the Park. The vegetation is mainly Karstveldt and Mopane shrubland with the geology dominated by dolomite formations – fittingly giving the new Resort its name. Nestled in the dolomite outcrops of this vast area of western Etosha National Park, Dolomite Resort will offer its clients an intimate experience of one of the most scenic areas of the Park, an area where previously endangered species like the Black Rhinoceros and Black-Faced Impala have been successfully bred.
The Resort consists of a spacious reception, lounge, bar and restaurant area – offering crimson sunrise and sunset views over the surrounding savannah. From this point, a walkway leads to thatched, en suite chalets of which two are deluxe chalets with own plunge pools – nestled amongst the rocky outcrops, providing privacy and dramatic and panoramic landscape views.
The Resort’s interiors are designed to harmonize the natural surroundings, characterized by weathered dolomite rock formations, Mopane, moringa and savannah woodland.
It is here beneath the rugged shoulders of the dolomite outcrops and boulders that tranquillity is truly found. Dolomite Resort will offer a profound and world-class, first of its kind experience inside the biodiversity-rich western section of Etosha National Park and moreover present its clients a wilderness experience that is unmatched in terms of privacy and landscape viewing.
UNIQUE ACTIVITIES
With no fewer than 15 waterholes in the surrounding areas, Dolomite Resort presents an exhilarating wildlife viewing experience and with such abundance in animal diversity your only concern should be your photography skills. Specially arranged Game drives operated by knowledgeable Tour guides take you to parts of the Park previously only known to Conservationists.
With the area having been virtually “tourist-free” for half a century, it is common to see high numbers of Zebra, Giraffe and antelope species such as the previously endangered Black-faced Impala roaming the plains below the hill. Black and White Rhino can also be spotted in numbers at Klip –pan waterhole.
Mirroring the animals in terms of sheer attraction, the Dolomite hill where the Resort is set presents a Botanists dream, boasting hundreds of plant species which bloom at different times of the year; giving Dolomite Resort its seasonal cadence of colours, aroma and mood.
